The way I see it, 30-33 are your early 30s, 34-36 are your mid 30s, and 37-39 are your late 30s. Tomorrow on April 4, I will be entering my late 30s, and it’s pretty hard to believe. On one hand, my grays and slowed metabolism are dead giveaways; on the other hand, I can’t compute that I entered my freshman year of college almost 20 years ago.

I used to do this thing on my blog, EMMASTHING.com, where I would write a cute little listicle each birthday that corresponded with my age, i.e. “27 Things I Learned at 27” or “25 Life Lessons at 25.” Once I hit 30, I stopped because coming up with 30+ wisdom nuggets felt daunting. But this year, I’m back with 18.5 things I’ve learned about myself and the world that I feel are worthy enough to share with you, my reading audience (I wanted to try for 37 but you try to come up with 37 nuggets of wisdom and let me know how it goes. I’M ONLY ONE WOMAN, MY GOD).
