Old Navy is Back, Baby. And We Need to Talk About it.
Zac Posen took over as Chief Creative Officer and it shows.
In lieu of The Weekly List, I am so high on my Old Navy experience yesterday, I need to dedicate today’s free Friday letter to it. I’m going to save everything else I’ve been shopping, watching, listening to, reading, and making for next week, so gird your loins for a DOUBLE feature next Friday.
Old Navy used to be my mom’s go-to haunt, which means it was automatically one of my go-to haunts because like mother, like daughter.
For years and years, I shopped there. In fact, I found some of my best swimsuits there. Alas, at some point, their product became less than appealing to me. The quality and silhouettes just completely stopped doing it for me, and dare I say my taste leveled up… but just a bit.
Ever since the great scoop neck/square neck revelation of 2024 (which happened literally last week when Fashion Jackson told me I needed to be wearing these necklines as opposed to crewnecks), I’ve been fixated on upending my entire wardrobe (that consists of 99.9% crewnecks, my god). Thus, when she texted me a link to this $8 square neck tee from Old Navy, I decided it was high-time to make an in-store visit.
What I was met with was an almost instantaneous need to grab a cart. I have never in my life needed to grab a cart in Old Navy, but within five minutes of being at the store, my hands were quickly filling up with clothes to try on.
I then proceeded to have the most luck with clothing I’ve had in a long time. Almost everything I tried on, I loved and felt amazing in. The quality and fit have made leaps and bounds, and I couldn’t believe how good all this stuff was.
It makes so much more sense now knowing that American fashion designer, Zac Posen, was recently hired as Gap’s EVP/Creative Director and Old Navy’s Chief Creative Officer. It’s no wonder Old Navy’s stuff is so fucking good right now, and I can’t wait to fall back into the GAP (it’s been years).
With that said, here’s what I got at Old Navy yesterday ALL OF WHICH is on sale (if you ever buy full-price from GAP or ON, you are a sucker).
Fitted Square Neck Rib Tee
This is the tee Amy sent me that got me all in a tizzy. I knew I had to go in and try it on to determine my size because size guides are bullshit. The medium was the winner (the large maybe had more room for my boobs, but too much material otherwise). I got it in red, black, green, and blue because I have no chill. When I find a basic I love, I get all the colors.
Sleeveless Square Neck Bodysuit
This bodysuit is like butter. It’s 95% cotton and 5% spandex and perfect. The only major difference between small and medium was more material/length on the medium, so I actually went ahead and ordered Medium Petites online to see if that maybe that’s my solution. Regardless, they are so damn good. I got black and green!
Oversize Button-Down Boyfriend Shirt
I am a sucker for good button-downs, and these are fantastic. I had just watched this reel about how to dress in oversized clothes the right way, so was extra excited to spot these in Old Navy. I got the White Oxford and the Oxford Blue because both are so versatile. Took mediums in both and probably could’ve gotten smalls, but I’d always rather have more room than not enough.
High-Waisted Barrel-Leg Cargo Ankle Pants
These pants are perfect. High waist. Barrel-leg. Ankle-length. What more could a shorter, curvier girl want?!?!?! The tie ankle is a sweet little touch. I am a size 10/30 pant, and I took the Large in these if that helps anyone. I wanted every color, but I settled on Coco De Mer and Blackjack. I might go back for the green, but I just feel like I have green cargo pants. IDK. I need to take inventory.
Crinkle Gauze Button-Down Top (not pictured in collage because I couldn’t fit it)
There’s no such thing as having too many lightweight tops for spring and summer, especially if you live in hell like I do. I was immediately drawn to this easy, gauze button-down and low and behold, it’s so flattering and great. I got it in black, but will probably get another color or two eventually because it’s just so good. I took a Medium!
Puff-Sleeve Midi Swing Dress
This dress!!!!!! Ugh, it’s so flattering. I love the empire waist and deep v-neck (super flattering). It’s more of a maxi length for me because I’m 5’4”, but it still works. The medium fit in the body but not the boobs, so I went up to a Large to ensure the girls fit. It also comes in a really fun floral print that I almost got, but decided simple black was the way to go.
This is just the beginning of what I hope is a rekindled love affair with a crazy-affordable clothing line. Please keep at this, Zac Posen. It’s what consumers have been needing for a long time. Sure, it’s fast fashion, but money doesn’t grow on trees, guys. Not sure if you knew that.
Hey! And don’t forget to follow my LTK Shop so you can almost always find links to clothes or items I feature here or on Instagram. I know it’s one more app to download, but it’s also easy to use and the easiest way to find what you’re looking for without waiting for me to answer your DM.
Have a wonderful weekend, and we’ll talk next week!

I'm also on a roll with Old Navy! The work out clothes and basics are not to be ignored! And the price point is great. Also, there's one in each suburbia corner, so easy returns.
I just bought 4 dresses for 100 bucks, ya just can’t beat it. Thanks Emma!!!
