Before we dive into this week’s list of what I’ve been reading/watching/listening to/making/shopping, I need to make sure we’re all on the same page about something very important.

Yes, that’s Taylor Swift and her ex-lover, Joe Alwyn. Yes, it’s an old picture. Yes, you’ve probably seen it. But it didn’t strike me until recently how fucked up it is that he is sitting in what we all know to be the woman’s seat. If the table has a booth on one side and a chair on the other, it’s an unspoken rule that the booth is for the lady. We all know this, right? It’s like… the rules of feminism.

Maybe if I’m feeling super giving or my masculine energy is surging that night, I’ll offer it to Zac. But 9 times out of 10, it’s just understood that I’ll be taking the booth side and he’ll be in the chair. The lady gets the booth for a number of reasons.

1. With her back fully supported, she feels supported physically and mentally.

2. Her date has no other choice but to look directly at her the entire meal. No wandering eye or getting distracted with other patrons coming and going.

3. It’s more comfortable, and she deserves that always.

A chair is sturdy and hard, like your mans should be. Thusly why he is banned to the chair always. Joe was/is a little baby back bitch, so his booth-stealing is not at all surprising. We all know Taylor ran that relationship, which is why we’re all drooling over Killa Trav coming in, quite literally grabbing her hand, and leading the way.

WATCHING 📺

We haven’t been watching much lately, TBH. With the Thanksgiving holiday, basically all I saw was football and a 20 minute infomercial for heavy ass cream that old women claim erased their crepey skin.

However, something we did watch that I think everyone else should is this new documentary about the JFK assassination. 10 years ago, a team sat down with the actual doctors who were there that day at Parkland hospital in Dallas and saw up close and personal what actually happened. Spoiler alert: If you don’t think there were two shooters and this was 100% an inside job after watching this, we have nothing in common anymore. It’s called What the Doctors Saw and it’s on Paramount+!

LISTENING TO 🎧

Remember Tosh.0? He just launched his own podcast and interviews his wife’s gyno (who happens to be a gay man) in the very first episode, and it’s everything. Zac listened first and told me I needed to ASAP, so I did and I was LOLing on the plane ride to Thanksgiving. He asks literally everything you’ve ever wanted to ask a gyno and it’s incredible. Listen here.

Like every other unstable red-blooded American woman, I started listening to New Heights to get to know Killa Trav a little better. I love-hate it. Some moments, I’m laughing. Others, I’m cringing. However, the episode with Jason’s wife, Kylie, is incredible. SHE is incredible. For real, if you haven’t watched their documentary yet, YOU MUST. And also listen to her New Heights episode.

Lastly, I always turn to this Classic Christmas playlist this time of year. It’s great.

MAKING 🔪

My sister-in-law’s mother-in-law is the sweetest, cutest woman in the world and also a very good cook. She made up this salad dressing recipe and when I tell you I could drink it, I COULD DRINK IT. I made it last night with some grilled chicken on a bed of greens and could’ve had three more bowls. I will write it up on the blog soon, but for now, here it is:

• 1/2 cup good olive oil

• 1/4 cup good balsamic vinegar

• 3-4 garlic cloves, minced or finely chopped

• 4 TBSP blue cheese crumbles (or more to taste. I used a BIG soup spoon 3x)

That’s it. It is pungent in the best, most delicious way. You will drool.

  One Last Gift Guide

• If you didn’t catch my Sézane try-on, do yourself a favor and watch it now. I am still obsessing over the pieces I model in the video.

• We have a tiny tinsel tree, and I found this tiny tree topper for it at Target and it’s just so cute. Even Zac was like “… that’s cute.”

• I also got this gorgeous little tree!

• I don’t think anyone in my life is gonna get me the Skims PJs for the holidays, so I decided to be an i-n-d-e-p-e-n-d-e-n-t bitch and order myself a pair. I’m so pissed that I waited because I wanted the gray, but they’re sold out in medium, so I went with the black. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

• “Why is she shopping for herself during the giving season?” her readers wondered internally. “Because she’s a dumb bitch,” they reminded themselves. Sorry, but this Anthro sweatshirt was too fucking cute to pass up. It’s WILDLY oversized, FYI. I got an XS, which is unheard of with these honkers.

• I also got this lovely minimalist belt and this pack of sparkly, oversized hair clips (that were 15% off because it was missing a clip!).
