You know those nights where you’re just having a really good time and want to keep the party going and even though you’re perfectly drunk, you think you need one more drink but that drink ends up sending you over the edge and ruining what could’ve been a perfect drunk?
That was my Saturday.
But let’s back up.
FRIDAY
Friday morning, I ventured to my new favorite coffee shop with my friend Amy (AKA Fashion Jackson) who was in town for the weekend. The coffee shop is literally across the street from my husband’s office, so I’ve become familiar with it and have witnessed it get better and better. It started as a tattoo studio then expanded into a vintage goods store, then got some modern day goods (like candles and jewelry and planters), then added a perfect coffee bar in the corner to make it the perfect catch-all shop. The coffee shop makes their own brown sugar syrup from scratch and won’t share the recipe (I asked last week, and she said “I can’t give it out, sorry”) for good reason — it’s the most incredible syrup ever and sets them apart from all other Dallas coffee shops IMO.
Anyway, Amy and I enjoyed some coffee while catching up and it was a lovely way to start the weekend.
I then killed time walking around a newer store called ROAM (owned by the same people who run Favor the Kind, another small Dallas boutique and nowhere near as cute. In fact, their selection sort of sucks) while waiting for Cece to be done with her grooming appointment. For those who don’t know, Cece is my 11-year-old Cavapoo (half King Charles Cavalier, half toy poodle). She weighs about 16 pounds and is a tiny thing, but when she’s grown out, she looks like a big fat floof and it’s so cute, but so messy. Every 6 weeks, I struggle with whether or not to get her hair cut, and I usually cave. I’ve been seeing a groomer at Hollywood Feed off Abrams (this is for the locals!) for months, and she is great. Her bandanas are the best part about pick-up.
