It’s been a minute since I gifted your Monday morning inbox with a breakdown of my weekend, and although there’s hardly anything interesting that happened this past weekend, I’m sure I can scrounge some stuff up for the sake of storytelling.

Friday

Friday was a busy work day, which is unusual for me. I had a new client call, several pieces of writing to accomplish, and had the dreaded annual tax call with my tax guy. Once all that was out of the way, I met one of my best friends at the only nail salon I go to in Dallas called Miniluxe for some happy hour pampering. I took a long break from getting manicures this winter, but decided it was high time to slap some paint on these hoes, so I went with Dazzle Dry’s Fast Track Cherry (it’s such a good red — not too bright, not too dark).

My best friend followed me back home where we caught up and awaited our other bestie to show up for a little girl’s night (+ Zac). We ordered food from a Chinese restaurant called Fortune House (it’s usually amazing, but it was just okay on Friday night) and sat around and shared old stories and laughed for a few hours. It was the best. Around 10:45, my friends were still lingering and I did something I literally never do — I kicked them out. They were in shock, as was I. But your girl was tired and ready to turn in for the night. They’re still in disbelief that I called the party off early; usually, I’m the friend who is begging them to stay longer or even stay the night and am wooing them with more food and drink. But a girl’s gotta sleep, ya know?
