Because I spent yesterday in a minor anxiety spiral and wrote a very vulnerable paid newsletter about it, I’m keeping things extremely light today. Zac and I head out in a few hours to visit one of my best friends in Tulsa, and I’ve yet to pack or even shower, so let’s get right into the good stuff!
First of all, I would be remiss to not mention that today is the 18th anniversary of The Office premiering on NBC. I was a senior in high school at the time, so I wasn’t immediately on board or obsessed, but as college went along and my frat boyfriend and his friends quoted it incessantly, I became a fan. Yet, it wasn’t really until post-college that I fully grasped the genius of the show and started rewatching it from season one and haven’t stopped rewatching it for the past several years. This show is my comfort and what I consider to be the greatest sitcom ever made (besides Seinfeld). Fun fact: The last social thing I did before lockdown back in March 2020 was participate in an Office trivia night here in Dallas, and my team took first place out of more than 50 teams. The Office is my bible.
READING 📖
It’s not that I don’t like Lessons in Chemistry. It’s just that I’ve been very distracted this month and haven’t made reading a priority. I came out of the gate at 100MPH this year with books and have already read six (a FEAT for me), so maybe I’m a little beat down? Who knows. The point is, I do like it—it’s just taking me longer to read.
WATCHING 📺
Lately, we’ve been blazing through (pun intended) the High Maintenance series on HBO. This started out as a web series with 6-7 minute videos, but was bought by HBO and turned into a full-fledged TV show. The premise is focused on a weed dealer in New York, period. That’s it. You don’t know his name, just that he has a bunch of clients and goes to deal them weed and witnesses a lot. Everyone buying weed from him is a character and have their own side stories, and it’s really clever, really funny, and sometimes really fucking weird. We love it.
We also watched Too Funny to Fail: The Life & Death of the Dana Carvey Show on HULU. It’s a documentary from 2017, so it’s older but the story of how epically this show failed is still so interesting and entertaining. I’m a comedy nerd and eat this kind of shit up, and the fact that this show is how Steve Carrell and Stephen Colbert got their start had me beaming (obviously).
LISTENING 🎧
I released this week’s podcast yesterday, and I have to say it was very cathartic. It focuses on the wide world of influencing and my long suppressed thoughts on the turn it’s taken over the last 5-6 years. I also speak directly to the Dani Austin de-influencing drama and share a quick story about how, during my freshman year of college when I was very much a virgin, I convinced myself that semen on my stomach that dripped down to my nether region had absolutely 100% impregnated me. It’s worth a listen.
Out of sheer curiosity and a realization that I don’t really know her, I dug back through Joe Rogan’s catalog of podcast episodes to listen to Miley Cyrus’ interview back in 2020. She was coming off her divorce from Liam and vocal surgery, and I learned so much about her and how truly wild she is, her family is, and her life is. It’s… a lot.
SHOPPING 🛍️
Speaking of that interview, though, I did end up ordering Vital Choice Fish Oil Supplements because it’s what Miley takes and I haven’t been on fish oil for a while and realized I probably need to be.
If you’re a Peloton walker/runner and you love Marcel or Jess, you may have seen them wear these long sleeve, mesh tops with a buckle closure. They are so weird and absolutely serve no purpose whatsoever, but I decided to try and find them and find them I did, on Amazon. I ordered myself one (size medium) and, again, they have no function, but I feel so fucking cool wearing it. So I guess that serves a purpose in and of itself? Anyway, I recommend them. They’re all over Amazon in different colors if you try hard enough and believe in yourself.
I got this portable charger for our overseas honeymoon back in October and didn’t end up using it nearly as much as I expected to. However, I’ve found that I’m using it a lot more often at home. Our outlets are oddly placed and sometimes it’s just easier to charge my phone with this rather than finding a plug and contorting my body and the charger to get things set up. Plus, my phone charges twice as fast with this charger.
Last Friday, I linked to several things from the Madewell and J.Crew sale. I ordered some of those things and they arrived this week, and here’s what I’m keeping:
The very cute mint leather handbag for spring and summer. I love it SO much!
These sandals in the Pale Lichen color (which is basically pistachio). Order one size up! (I’m a 7 and got an 8)
The two colors I ordered in these t-shirts (medium)
This color-block button up. IT’S SO CUTE (small)
I’m also keeping this braided belt, but exchanging for the smaller size (braided belts are tricky because they don’t have pre-determined notches and usually end up running large. I got a M/L but need the XS/S).
Whether you’re a free subscriber or paying one, I appreciate you so much. I’ve been having such a good creative time coming up with content for my Substack and hope you guys are enjoying it. Have a great weekend, and we’ll chat next week!

In an ironic twist, my left wrist bears my name in Hebrew via a tattoo. I sometimes get asked if I'm Jewish (either by Religion or heritage), and I tell them no (because I am not). I once had a client (very stereotypical Jewish grandma) tell me if I were Jewish, I wouldn't be able to get buried in a Jewish cemetery because of my tattoos. I replied, "Good thing I'm not Jewish," and we giggled.😂🤷♀️
This week's podcast was SO good. I really appreciated hear more about your POV in a way that I don't think you've shared with your audience before.
