Things I Bought and Returned (AKA TIBAR) is a monthly paid letter with the goal to help you avoid spending money on things that I bought and - you guessed it - returned. Or, on the opposite hand, perhaps encourage you to make my return-trash your treasure because maybe the item would be better suited for you.

Sometimes the reasoning behind my returns are harmless; most of the time, they’re scathing reviews. As much as I have a serious shopping problem love shopping, I love returning what didn’t work so much more.

THE GREEN VASE

Guys, listen. Just. Sigh. I was desperate for a colorful vase for our kitchen table, and did the laziest thing possible by grabbing the first thing I saw at Target. It was a lapse in judgment, okay? I was with Ziggy and we were in the mood to BUY, and for some reason I’ll never understand, I thought this vase was cute. It’s not cute. It’s objectively not cute. It took my kind, gentle sister telling me during my visit to Chicago that “it’s fucking disgusting. Like it’s so so ugly. You can do better” for me to realize it. When I ran her objection past Zac, he didn’t fully agree, but he also didn’t disagree. Then, when Zac’s mom was visiting last week, she asked if it was supposed to be a guitar?????????????? and that’s what sealed its fate.

A guitar-shaped vase. Shame on me.
