Things I Bought and Returned (TIBAR) | March
Featuring what may be my greatest return accomplishment to date...
I love shopping, but I love returning even more. Submitting a request for return, printing out the label, attaching it to the box, taping the box up, and ultimately dropping that box off at UPS/USPS, Whole Foods, or FedEx gives me a rush I can’t get anywhere else. It’s free money, after all.
Each month, I keep track of everything I bought and returned so I can share my fails with paying subscribers because it’s great when things work out, but it’s more interesting to talk about what didn’t work and why.
Welcome to Things I Bought and Returned (TIBAR).
TIBAR 1: L’Oreal Lipsticks
I saw an MUA on Instagram talk about these L’Oreal lipsticks and how they were the more affordable version of Charlotte Tilbury. I don’t want to say she’s wrong, but… she’s wrong. Something I’ve learned over my many years of wearing lipstick is that designer lipstick is expensive for a reason — the quality and wear is usually unmatched. I wanted to love these but just didn’t. I found the formula to be thick and dry, so they went back! In my world, nothing compares to Charlotte’s Matte Revolution Hydrating lipstick in any color. She somehow hacked how to make lipstick matte but moisturized in the same swipe with this stuff.
