Things I Bought and Returned (TIBAR) | June
Alt title: On second thought, maybe Quince sucks?
While I love shopping, I love returning even more. Submitting a request for return, printing out the label, attaching it to the box, taping up that box, and ultimately dropping it off at UPS/USPS, Whole Foods, or FedEx gives me a rush I can’t get anywhere else.
The vibe is always get this shit out of my house and give me back my money.
Each month, I keep track of everything I bought and returned so I can share my fails with paying subscribers because it’s great when things work out, but it’s more interesting to talk about what didn’t work and why.
Welcome to
Quince things
So. I thought I loved Quince, but I’m starting to realize maybe it was a fleeting, one-time thing? I even stuck up for it the other month when I read articles about how it’s unabashedly cheap knock-offs. But, in June, I returned four things from them, so I think the affair is over.
My returns included:
This red jumpsuit that was way too big and just really unflattering in every way.
This black linen button down, not because I didn’t like it, but because I decided I didn’t need it (I have it in white and it’s great).
This gingham dress I got MONTHS ago and thought was absolutely adorable only to try it on in June and realize that it was not only too big for me now (yay, non-scale win!) but just generally unflattering. The stitching/line across the bosom is really unbecoming for bigger chests.
This easy throw-on dress that I decided just looked cheap and I could do better.
I think Quince and I are gonna take a break for a while. Sorry, Quince. It’s not me; it’s you.
SKIMS bras + a swimsuit
Oh, Kim. You got me good. Per usual, the search for good bras for big chests is never-ending, so I ordered this demi bra and this t-shirt bra from Kimmy’s line and both were a joke. Now, I do realize that maybe 34G boobs aren’t exactly a top candidate for a demi bra, but I dream. Actually, I nightmare because the spillage both in front and BACK with this bra was humbling and horrifying.
