What I'm Packing For Our Unofficial Pre-Babymaking Moon
Assuming the weather cooperates...
As of right now, it’s looking like severe thunderstorms on Thursday, which is typical for this time of year in Dallas, but I am not handling the threat well. We are set to leave Thursday afternoon for our unofficially official last trip before we pull the goalie, and the supposed storms are supposed to be blowing through Dallas right around the time we leave. Of course, because I catastrophize everything, I’m 30 steps ahead, worrying that our flight will be effected negatively by these alleged thunderstorms, and who can blame me given the entire field of aviation’s track record this past year?
I was supposed to be taking a 20 minute Advanced Beginner’s Run Peloton class tonight at 6pm (it’s Monday as I’m writing this), but instead I was on the phone with Elvis, an American Express customer service representative (this call is being monitored for quality and assurance purposes, p.s.) trying to change our late afternoon flight to an early morning flight on Thursday in hopes of cheating the weather. Instead of running at my push pace of 5.2 while Marcel Dinkins insisted I could do it and imploring me to give her a little more (just .1 or .2), I was waiting on Elvis to ultimately let me know that we could definitely change to an earlier flight for the low, low price of $800.
So, prayers up that the Millers get to Cabo on Thursday on their original late afternoon flight, come severe thunderstorm in the late afternoon with potential hail and damaging winds… or high water.
Anyway, assuming we actually get out of Dallas and end up poolside in Mexico for a long weekend, here’s what I’m taking with me.
