Childless cat lady here to say that your honesty about becoming a mom is helpful to those of us who donβt have kids too. It has given me so much insight on what my mom and friends have gone through and honestly I wish I would have known all of this when my friends were having babies. I like to think if I had I would have shown up for them more and supported them more and reminded them more often how fucking badass and strong they are. Keep sharing the real shit, itβs helping all women not just moms!
Landman has been on my watchlist, I just followed TRIH podcast on your suggestion, and those CCC are the best! I also do my own thing with the chocolate chips. Hang in there with Ziggy. He's too cute not to?!π
I too appreciate your honesty and realness of being a new mom. Too many influencers who are new moms seem too perfect IMO. This weekβs post really spoke to me. #1 Dazzle Dry, since I started following you ( a few years?) and introduced me to dazzle dry, I think I now own all the colors which is too many but I love love the system. How fast it dries and doesnβt chip. Amazing. Iβm on baking and cooking streak this week and made all the things today and everything lived up to the hype. Also, I couldnβt pass up the sale on the hoodie. I broke my promise I wouldnβt spend any money on clothes this month. Oh well.
I think experiencing the 4th trimester during winter is so hard! I too have a November baby and once spring hit it was like a breath of fresh air and that 4th trimester fog just lifted.
THANK YOU for being real about what you are going through postpartum. I had my child 6 years ago and felt so isolated when I saw posts like the ones you are describing where everything is perfect. I promise you are doing so much good being realisticβbecause we know those folks are struggling to! They just arenβt showing it.
AlsoβLOVED Tom Lake. We just read Here One Moment for our book club and I really enjoyed it, but a lot in our book club didnβtβthought it was too slow and long. But I donβt mind a slow burn. π

I am excited to hear your thoughts about Here One Moment. I thought it was the worst book of 2024 ha ha! Loved Tom Lake.
