QQ: If TWD (AKA the Free Friday letter) moved to Mondays, would that throw off your entire week? Ruin your Fridays? Make you hate me?
I’m not saying that’s gonna happen, but I am saying that Thursdays seem to be really jam-packed for me and my last day of childcare during the week so if I don’t get this letter written by then, Friday is a wash in terms of spending any real time sitting at my computer writing.
Basically what I’m trying to say is if you start seeing TWD in your inbox on Mondays rather than Fridays, you know why.
Anyway, hope everyone had a great weekend. Or, if you’re a bitch, the weekend you deserved.
Our weekend involved one super sleepless night, one super restful night (Zig’s longest stretch yet of 8 hours! S/O to putting baby oatmeal into the bedtime bottle. Our parents’ generation was onto something there), a really lovely early evening hang with a bestie and her family, and a whole bunch of nothing on Sunday including dropping $90 for one of the worst brunches I’ve ever had (if you’re in Dallas, DON’T waste your time at Medium Rare. I will never understand why Standard Service didn’t last in that spot. Makes me so sad).
This week, my sister and her family are in town to visit for her kids’ spring break, Ziggy has his 4 month shots or maybe his 5 month appointment (honestly I don’t know which it is), Zac has a one-night trip to Austin for work, Fashion Jackson is making a quick Dallas trip and saying hi to me at some point, and who knows what in between.

I’m putting collagen in my coffee again. IDK, this felt important to share. I did this daily for a long time, then stopped (I think because of pregnancy?) but am doing it again. I use Vital Proteins. I’m also taking Biotin again. Basically, my life’s purpose from here on out (besides Ziggy) is to grow my hair down to my butt. It’ll never happen, but I’m going to attempt it. THE WAY I regret fucking with my hair so much in 2023… my “bangs” still haven’t grown out to an acceptable length, and if I’ve learned anything from my hair trials and tribulations over the last year or so, it’s that, as boring as it is, trimming a half inch off my hair and leaving it all one length like I did for YEARS was the way. FUCK LAYERS.

I love and follow Luke Cook and his wife, Kara Cook, on Instagram. They are such a beautiful couple, it’s annoying. And his kids are so cute (and they have a third one on the way!). Anyway, Luke is starring opposite Leighton Meester in the new CW comedy, Good Cop/Bad Cop, so Zac and I gave it a shot last week. The first episode was pretty good — an easy, silly, feel-good watch. But episode two fell pretty flat, and I realized it’s because Luke is way too gorgeous to be playing the character he’s playing. His ridiculous good lucks and 6’5” frame don’t work as an incredibly awkward, intellectual, particular type of person. That and I don’t buy his and Leighton’s “sibling” chemistry. I’m so happy he got a big role, but IDK man. We’re not giving up. Yet.

Re: The White Lotus season three. Patrick Schwarzenegger and Leslie Bibb both deserves Emmys. Patrick for his spot-on portrayal of hangxiety and Leslie’s wordless facial expression when her friends asked her if she voted for Trump. Literally, those two moments are award-winning.

Ya girl is back to shopping. I’m trying to figure out my postpartum body, which requires a lot of trial and error with clothing. I’ve had great success with Quince, via this gingham dress, this everyday dress, this black bodysuit, and this perfect white linen button down.
I also got the white version of this denim dress from Madewell because I love it that much.
It’s no secret I am extremely displeased with the size of my chest. I want to wear sports bras every day, but I realize that smushing my tits down instead of lifting and separating them completely hides my waist. So, I got this Wacoal bra for the interim and it’s good. I mean, it’s a great bra. I just HATE real bras. But in terms of real bras, it’s legit.
The Texas heat is already upon us, so I grabbed three pairs of these biker shorts from Target. They’re the perfect length, and if you hang tight, they’ll probably be back on sale again soon. They run large like all athletic wear does, so size down one from your typical un-athletic pant size.
I desperately want to get my anti-tragus pierced, but after all the EPIC FAILS I’ve experienced with piercings over the years (IYKYK, but IY don’t K, I’ve gotten three non-lobe piercings, all of which have become extremely infected. My ears don’t tolerate any kind of “cool” piercing. Lobe or bust), I’d be a fool to try a fourth time. Therefore, I ordered this faux cuffs from Amazon to play with and I think they’ve satisfied by urge.

We have officially booked our summer trip to Oregon, and I am… VERY excited. We’re going to Willamette Valley to drink wine every day and sleep in and get a reprieve from Texas summer, and I cannot wait. If you have any recommendations for that area, please leave a comment or email me or DM me or whatever!

I have a love/hate with AMA. It CAN be a super fun way to engage if you’re asked interesting, answerable questions, but it can also be pretty boring or not at all insightful if you’re asked the same things over and over or asked questions that don’t really encourage any sort of elaboration or interesting answers. AMA, to me, is essentially an audience’s chance to conduct their own kind of interview and we all know that interviewees who give canned, non-answer responses are annoying as hell, so I try to never do that.

I got my first period since last January yesterday, so you’re welcome for everything you’re about to read. 😃
Hey. Go have a great week.

Any day you share is great. Seriously whatever works for you 💕
I miss standard service 😭 Also we did an Oregon wine trip last summer and I have a (maybe too) thorough google doc and map of everything we did- if it would actually be helpful and not annoying to send, happy to do so!
